1.   In a large bowl, measure cereal.  Set aside.
2.   In 1 qt. microwave bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and
strained prunes, uncovered on High for 1 minute.  Stir.  Microwave about
30 sec. longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth.  Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture over cereal,  stirring until evenly coated.
3.   Spread mixture evenly on waxed paper lined cookie sheets.  Sprinkle on
powdered sugar.  Cool.  Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.
4.   Lick off hooves so you will not leave chocolate/peanut butter tracks
      throughout the house.

         * You can substitute 1/4 cup butter or margarine for the prunes
but  the chow won't be as sweet or as good for you!
House Hippo Chow

Dear CruFuTu,

How can I prevent peanut butter tracks on the kitchen floor in the middle of the night?

Constantly Caught in Winooski, VT

Dear CC,

Don't eat peanut butter in the kichen in the middle of the night. If your dryer lint nest (see above question) is covered in plastic, you can take a gob of peanut butter to bed with

you and snack whenever you want.

Dear CruFuTu,

Do you think it is right for a self-respecting HH to dress like a bee? Is Futon setting a good example for impressionable young House Hippos?

Fellow House Hippos, may we help you with a vexing problem?

If you are watching your sugar intake, try this for powdered sugar:
                                          3/4  cup    Splenda granular
                                            2   tbsp.   cornstarch
Place ingredients in blender jar.  Cover and blend until Splenda
                                            is a very fine powder.

Dear LS,

We'd be happy to share this recipe with you. See below.

Dear CruFuTu,

In the photo of you guys working on the website, you are eating a snack that looks very tasty. Would you give us the recipe for it?

Dear SGE,

Bees are more likely to share their homes with an outsider who shows an interest in them. Futon's work ethic of keeping busy like the bee is admirable at HHH and he has kept us well stocked in honey to boot.

Dear CruFuTu,

How do I know if I'm a House Hippo?

Wondering in Thessalon, ON

Dear Wondering,

If someone smiles lovingly at you and says, "You're my

little House Hippo, then you know that it is true.

Dear CruFuTu,

I'm allergic to the dust in

dryer lint. Is it OK to cover

my lint before sleeping on it?

Ahchoo from Burnaby, BC

Dear Ahchoo,

Of course you may cover your dryer lint.  A true HH will only make a comfortable nest. Our own little Tucson sleeps with plastic wrap around his dryer lint to prevent sleep sneezing.
